Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Train cancellations in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania until August 28th

Schwerin (dpa / mv) - Train passengers must continue to be prepared for train cancellations on several local transport routes in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. According to its own statements, Deutsche Bahn is expected to cancel trains on the RE4 Pasewalk - Ueckermünde Stadthafen, RE5 Stralsund - Neustrelitz and RB17 Wismar - Ludwigslust routes by August 28th. Increased sick leave is given as the reason.

Between Wismar and Ludwigslust alone, eleven connections will be dropped every day from Monday to Friday. There have been deletions since July 25th. Deutsche Bahn recommends using the competitor Odeg's trains, which run every two hours on the same route.

For the canceled trains between Stralsund and Neustrelitz, the railway refers to the trains that continue to run from or to Berlin. There have been failures between Stralsund and Neustrelitz since August 1st. The railway uses replacement buses between Pasewalk and Ueckermünde.

In addition to the increased sick leave, additional trips during the 9-euro ticket period influenced the availability of staff, according to the railway. The Pro Bahn passenger association sees this critically. State chairman Marcel Drews told the German Press Agency on Monday that it would not be good if basic services were restricted in order to drive elsewhere for leisure traffic.
