Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Trial of triple murder in Rövershagen continues

Rostock (dpa/mv) - On Friday (9.30 a.m.) the Rostock district court will continue the trial against a 27-year-old who is said to have murdered his parents and sister in Rövershagen in February last year. Since the opening of the hearing on November 15, the accused has remained silent in court.

Numerous witnesses have already been heard, including close relatives of the victims. During the police interrogations, the 27-year-old had confessed to the crimes extensively. At the start of the trial, however, he had his lawyer withdraw all previous statements.

He is said to have brutally killed his father (52) and sister (25) and a few days later his mother (48) in Rövershagen near Rostock on February 7, 2022 with a crossbow and a garden machete. If found guilty, he faces a life sentence.
