Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Union wants better pay in the vegetable industry

Neubrandenburg (dpa/mv) - The union Food-Genuss-Gaststätten (NGG) in the north-east wants to stop the loss of real wages in the fruit and vegetable industry. "Life has become equally expensive for everyone, so it is only fair to demand a uniform monetary value for all employees," said NGG Managing Director for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Jörg Dahms, on Tuesday in Neubrandenburg.

The NGG demands 450 euros more per month for the 2,200 employees in the industry in the country. For trainees, the remuneration in the four years of training should be EUR 1150, EUR 1250, EUR 1350 and EUR 1400. According to the information, the previous collective agreement will expire at the end of March.
