Kuehlungsborn (dpa/mv) - In the district of Rostock, the police are looking for perpetrators who blow up parking machines and cause considerable damage. As a police spokesman said on Tuesday, the strangers broke into two such machines on Monday in a multi-storey car park not far from the pier in Kuehlungsborn, presumably because of the weekend income. Security guards were made aware of this by the noise of the explosion. The pure property damage is estimated at 25,000 euros.
It is not yet clear how much money was stolen. The police are now hoping to track down the perpetrators through tips from passers-by and video recordings from the surveillance system. Due to its location on the water, the Baltic Sea resort of Kühlungsborn is a magnet for visitors, especially on weekends.
