Rostock (dpa/mv) - A prospectus distributor in Rostock, who was stabbed in the back with a knife by a stranger, is no longer in mortal danger. The police confirmed this on Saturday. Accordingly, the first searches for the perpetrator remained unsuccessful. The 44-year-old man was life-threateningly injured by an unknown person on Friday evening while he was distributing flyers in mailboxes. He then underwent surgery in the hospital. It is not yet clear why the perpetrator attacked the man with a knife.

The police are looking for witnesses who can provide information about the crime and are investigating the unknown man on charges of attempted manslaughter.
