Stralsund (dpa / mv) - A drunken mother with a small child triggered a police operation in the Stralsund zoo. As a police spokesman said on Friday, witnesses dialed the emergency number on Thursday because the woman was swaying and had fallen several times. When officers arrived, they had the 28-year-old woman blow into an alcohol breath machine. The device showed 3.07 parts per thousand breath alcohol. Officials alerted the four-year-old boy's estranged father, who was sober and picked up the child.
The woman, who could barely stand, was taken to a hospital by ambulance. The mother was being investigated on suspicion of violating her duty of care and upbringing, and the youth welfare office had also been informed.
