Jeffery Simmons, Titans defensive tackle, has not yet received a second contract. He hasn't stopped writing large checks to the institutions that got him to where he is now.

He cut the ribbon in Macon on the Jeffery B. Simmons Field House. This building was built with his donation. Starkville: He donated $75,000 to the Starkville Parks and Recreation department for a turf field. It will also be named after Simmons. This week, he hosted his third annual youth soccer camp in Starkville.

Krajisnik was told by Simmons that it is more than football. It's more than just the young children who see us on Thursdays, Mondays and Sundays. These kids matter. Starkville is important. The town of Macon is important."

Simmons is important to the NFL. He is the best of all the young defensive players in the NFL to take on the big shoes of Aaron Donald. The Titans must quickly replenish Simmons's cash reserves.
