Mobilization against pension reform: traffic will be severely disrupted on Tuesday, announce SNCF and RATP

In view of the third day of national strike against the pension reform project on Tuesday, SNCF announced on Sunday February 5 that traffic will be "severely disrupted" for trains.

"All the lines operated by SNCF Voyageurs" will be disrupted on Tuesday, warns the railway company, with one in two trains on average for the TGV Inoui and Ouigo and three out of ten TERs. On the main lines, the SNCF expects to see one in two TGVs running on average (it was one in three during the previous day of action, Tuesday January 31), two out of five TGVs on the North axis, one out of two in the East, one out of three in the Atlantic arc and two out of five for the South-East, from province to province and for the Ouigos.

SNCF will give more details on traffic on Monday at 5 p.m. "If possible, we recommend that you cancel or postpone your planned trips for that day," she recommends.

Parisian transport severely disrupted

Traffic will also be "very disrupted on the RER and metro networks" in the Ile-de-France region, with in particular one in two trains on RER lines A and B and partial or reduced traffic on the majority of metro lines. The disturbances will be slight on the bus network, the tram will circulate normally.

In the Paris metro, lines 1 and 14 (automatic) will operate normally, as will 3bis. One in two trains will run on line 4. For the others, the trains will be less frequent, with reduced hours in the evening, or only at peak times, or even for two others (the 8 and the 13) on a section only line.

"The RATP invites all travelers who have the possibility to favor teleworking or to postpone their trips on the network that day", recommends the group, which will provide more details on Tuesday's traffic, the day before.

Cancellation of one in five flights at Orly

The general directorate of civil aviation also asked airlines on Sunday to preventively cancel one in five flights at Paris Orly airport on Tuesday, due to a strike by air traffic controllers as part of the mobilization against the pension reform.

A similar measure had been taken for the previous day of social mobilization, just a week ago.
