"Never seen before": Robbie Williams announces spectacular talent show

Pop star Robbie Williams is far from being old-fashioned. In addition to a revealing documentary series, he wants to really get going again with a special kind of talent show: It should be an "unprecedented format", reveals the 48-year-old.

Singer Robbie Williams has revealed to the British "Mirror" that he wants to start his own talent show in 2023. "I have this idea for a talent show that has never existed before," he is quoted as saying. In the same conversation, he also announced a series: "I've written a TV series that's a dark comedy." It is not clear whether and how the two formats are related.

Robbie Williams has talent show experience. He was a 2018 judge with his wife Ayda Field on The X Factor, directed by and starring Simon Cowell. Williams already reported on his own TV ideas during the corona peak. The former Take That member also told the British "Mirror" at the time: "There's a new path that I'm going to walk ... And I'm really excited about it."

Five formats are therefore in the works. The English pop star has not yet revealed any further details, but after his jury work on the talent show "The X Factor" he seems to have acquired a taste for it.

Robbie fans can also look forward to his upcoming documentary series, which is due out in 2023, Williams said on the New Zealand radio show Mike Hosking Breakfast: "It will be full of sex and drugs and mental illness." The 48-year-old singer wants to present himself "without make-up" on the streaming service and suspects that "too much information about his life will probably be revealed". "No rules" would apply to the as yet untitled project, Williams said.

According to Netflix, the documentary series will consist of new interviews and intimate, never-before-seen archive footage. Williams says he wants to "expose himself more than anyone else does."

But that's not all: fans and followers of Robbie can admire their idol at numerous concerts next year. In 2023, the pop star will perform at the Rockwave Festival in Greece, among other places.
