"New transfer": Lukas Podolski becomes a father again

The fact that Lukas Podolski announces a "new transfer" on his Instagram page does not mean that he is aiming to change clubs again. Rather, "Poldi" announces something that cannot be paid for with any transfer fee in the world: he is expecting his third child.

Lukas Podolski and his wife Monika are expecting children again. The 37-year-old professional footballer officially announced this on his Instagram account.

"Poldi" posted two photos showing the couple's two previous children barefoot from behind and in light yellow outfits. Gold, white, light blue and pink balloons are draped around them. Podolski writes short comments like "New transfer", "Soon" and "I can't wait to meet you" in the comment column. There are also the hashtags "We can't wait" and "Family".

The first photo also features a large black balloon that begs the question of all questions: "Boy or girl?" reads on it. The resolution is in the second photo. The balloon burst on him and daughter Maya is happy about the pink confetti, which announces a girl to her and Poldi's fans.

Lukas and Monika Podolski have been married since 2011. Son Louis was born in 2008, Maya followed in 2016.

Lukas Podolski played in his professional career from 2003 for clubs such as 1. FC Köln, Bayern Munich and Arsenal London. He was on the pitch 130 times for the German national team. He is currently ending his career at the Polish club Górnik Zabrze, where he is still under contract until next year.

It is unlikely that he will then aim for a "new transfer" himself. Rather, "Poldi" has long since created other mainstays in addition to football. In Cologne, for example, he runs an ice cream parlor and a kebab shop. Last year he agreed to a TV collaboration with RTL, including as a juror on "Das Supertalent".
