Lüdinghausen (dpa / lnw) - Two 14-year-olds are said to have caused five-digit damage at a school in Lüdinghausen with vandalism. The police spoke on Monday of a "swath of destruction" that they had found. The two 14-year-olds were observed by a witness entering the roof of the secondary school on Sunday. There the alleged perpetrators would have destroyed dome hoods. In addition, lightning rods were torn from the guides. In the building itself, the suspects tore fire extinguishers from the walls and emptied them. "In sanitary areas, they smashed toilets, sinks and tiles," the police report said.

The youths were temporarily arrested, the officials said. After the end of the police measures, both could have left again. Appropriate criminal proceedings have been initiated.
