North Rhine-Westphalia: 16-year-old scooter driver crashes into a lantern and dies

Detmold (dpa / lnw) - A scooter driver crashed into a lantern in Detmold and was fatally injured. The 16-year-old died at the scene of the accident, a police spokesman said on Friday. His 17-year-old passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries. According to the information, it is still unclear why the young men left the street on Thursday evening. Smoothness was not the cause, the spokesman said.
