Monschau (dpa / lnw) - 17 children and a teacher were slightly injured in a bus accident in Monschau in the Eifel. Nine of the third-grade elementary school students were taken to nearby hospitals, police reported on Saturday. They fell when the bus slammed on the brakes in the Friday afternoon incident.
A driver stopped her car on the right-hand side of the road and suddenly opened the driver's door. According to the police, the 67-year-old bus driver could no longer avoid it and braked abruptly. A total of 33 children were on the bus.
