North Rhine-Westphalia: 17-year-old causes car accident: previously killed senior?

Menden (dpa / lnw) - investigations into a car accident brought a 17-year-old from Sauerland into custody - but on suspicion of manslaughter. The young man crashed his car into a guardrail in Menden, and the vehicle rolled over several times, as the police in the Märkisch district reported on Monday. The 17-year-old, who did not have a driver's license, was seriously injured in a rescue helicopter and taken to a hospital in Dortmund on Saturday. In the course of the investigation, it turned out that the car was registered to an 83-year-old who was later found dead in his apartment. There are indications of external violence as the cause of death.

A homicide squad went to work. Because of the strong suspicion of having committed manslaughter and theft, a court ordered the youth to be held in custody. "The 17-year-old has not yet admitted to the allegations," the police said. She initially did not want to give any further information.
