Essen (dpa / lnw) - A 17-year-old was injured by a knife after an argument in front of a club in Essen early on Saturday morning. The victim left the location with four other young men and met a group of five men who, according to a police report, immediately sought a fight. A physical altercation then ensued, during which police said the young men were kicked and beaten. A person from the attacking group then also pulled a knife, it was said.

When the group fled, the 17-year-old felt pain in his upper body and shortness of breath while fleeing. Rescue workers then found a stab wound in the upper body and took the young man to a hospital. The police are investigating.
