Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - An unknown man is said to have attacked two young people in a subway in Düsseldorf after a dispute between him and the two friends escalated. An 18-year-old suffered serious injuries from a stabbing and was taken to the hospital, police and prosecutors said on Sunday. So there is no danger to life. A homicide detective is investigating grievous bodily harm.

According to the announcement, the man got into an argument with the two 17 and 18-year-olds because they were using their cell phones too loudly. He is said to have racially insulted the 17-year-old and headbutted him. Then he injured the 18-year-old with a knife. The young people fled from the train at Düsseldorf-Bilk station. The man also got out a little later, as witnesses reported.

The perpetrator should be between 35 and 45 years old and have a strong stature. At the time of the crime he was wearing a red T-shirt, beige shorts and a beige cap. The police are looking for more witnesses.
