North Rhine-Westphalia: 18-year-old stabbed after a bar fight

Mönchengladbach (dpa / lnw) - An 18-year-old was stabbed and seriously injured in Mönchengladbach. He had saved himself after the attack with a stabbing weapon early Friday morning in a police station, as the police and prosecutors said on Saturday. The suspect is therefore a 26-year-old, whom the victim knew briefly. The two young men are said to have gotten into an argument in a pub at night. The 26-year-old is said to have inflicted several stab wounds on the other a little later on the open road.

The police arrested the suspect shortly afterwards near the pub. On Friday, a magistrate ordered him to be remanded in custody for an attempted homicide. The 18-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries. There was no danger to life.
