North Rhine-Westphalia: 28-year-old freed from burning car: danger to life

Siegen (dpa / lnw) - A 28-year-old was freed from his burning car by first responders early on Saturday morning. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, the Siegen-Wittgenstein district police said.

Local residents heard a loud bang. Shortly thereafter, the car was already on fire. It is not yet clear why the man lost control of his car and crashed into several parked cars. The force of the impact caused flying debris to damage other vehicles. Initial estimates put the damage to property at over 70,000.
