Duisburg (dpa / lnw) - Six days after disappearing in Lake Masuria, a 33-year-old was found dead in the water. This was announced by the Duisburg police on Monday. The man had visited the lake with family members last Tuesday and is said to have slipped into the water from an air mattress. According to the police, it can be assumed that the man from Duisburg drowned in the lake, which was up to twelve meters deep.
In the past week, several divers from the fire department had been looking for the man. A rescue helicopter, a cadaver dog and a boat from the German Life Saving Society were also used. The search was interrupted on Wednesday night because of darkness. According to the fire brigade, the operation was stopped on the second day due to poor visibility.
