North Rhine-Westphalia: 39-year-old escaped from a specialist clinic

Bedburg-Hau (dpa / lnw) - A 39-year-old man fled from a specialist clinic in Bedburg-Hau on the Lower Rhine early Tuesday morning. He had been locked up there since 2019 because of several robberies in the Ruhr area in 2016. The man was not armed when he fled, a police spokeswoman said. He may have had helpers. The police searched for the man with a helicopter and dogs, but initially in vain.
