Düsseldorf/Cologne (dpa/lnw) - At the beginning of the autumn holidays there were waiting times at the airports in North Rhine-Westphalia again. A spokesman for Düsseldorf Airport reported on Friday that there was a 20 to 40 minute wait at the security checkpoint in the early afternoon. Cologne/Bonn Airport also announced a waiting time of 40 minutes via Twitter.
According to traffic information from the WDR, there were around 300 kilometers of traffic jams on the motorways in the early afternoon. The A1, A2 and A3 were particularly affected.
