North Rhine-Westphalia: 49 suspects with 146 entries in criminal records

Duisburg/Düsseldorf (dpa/lnw) - A good two months after the shooting between rockers and clan members in Duisburg with several injuries, new details are becoming known: The public prosecutor's office is currently investigating 49 suspects, who have a total of 146 entries in their criminal records. This emerges from a response from the Ministry of the Interior to a request from the AfD in the state parliament.

Accordingly, on May 4, 2022, around "100 people from the rocker and clan milieu, which can be classified as organized and severely criminal, met in an aggressive attitude" on Hamborn's Altmarkt. At least three people fired 28 shots. Four of those involved were taken to hospital with injuries, but "other injuries from the environment of the two groups are suspected".

According to the Ministry of the Interior, 22 of the 49 people involved who have been identified so far belong to the "Hells Angels", while the rest mostly belong to two large families. For some, we don't know for sure. One thing is certain: the majority of the accused have previous convictions. At the request of the AfD, the ministry anonymously shows all entries in the federal central register: In the case of several suspects, the number of criminal convictions is in the two-digit range.
