Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - A young man died in Düsseldorf on Saturday night after a confrontation with a 55-year-old. According to a statement from the public prosecutor's office and the Düsseldorf police, witnesses observed how the older man in the area of the Ratinger Tor hit the 23-year-old with a boundary bollard. The young man, who reportedly lived in Bavaria, died at the scene of the serious injuries.
The suspect, who according to the report has no permanent address, tried to flee but was arrested by emergency services. The public prosecutor's office and a murder commission from the Düsseldorf police have started the investigation.
