North Rhine-Westphalia: 58-year-old driver runs over two young women at the lake

Cologne (dpa / lnw) - In the evening, a man ran over two women sitting on the ground in a parking lot on Lake Fühlinger in Cologne. A 22-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries and a 35-year-old was seriously injured. Both were taken to the hospital, police said on Tuesday. A blood sample was taken from the 58-year-old driver of the car because he is said to have been intoxicated. According to police, the three people may have been drinking together beforehand. The police assume an accident.
