Münster (dpa / lnw) - A 61-year-old motorcyclist died in a serious traffic accident on Autobahn 1 near Münster on Saturday morning. The man was traveling in the direction of Dortmund and was caught in the area of the Münster-Süd motorway junction when two cars collided, the police said. The 61-year-old fell and succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.
According to the police, the serious accident happened when a 27-year-old drove onto the A1 towards Dortmund at the Münster-Süd junction and immediately moved over to the middle lane. There there was a collision with the car of a 56-year-old who could no longer avoid it. The motorcyclist passed the site of the collision at the same time and was caught. According to the Münster fire brigade, a car was on the roof.
The two drivers involved were taken to hospital with minor injuries. The A1 was closed in the direction of Dortmund for the accident recording between the Münster-Süd junction and the Hiltrup junction.
