North Rhine-Westphalia: 66-year-old injured in a room fire in a nursing home

Bad Driburg (dpa / lnw) - A 66-year-old resident was critically injured in a room fire in a retirement home in Bad Driburg (Höxter district). The fire in a room at the "Auf der Mühlstätte" facility broke out around 3:30 a.m. early Friday morning, the police said. The fire was quickly extinguished by the fire brigade, so the flames could be prevented from spreading to other parts of the building, it said. The injured senior was taken to the hospital. The police have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
