Düsseldorf/Berlin (dpa/lnw) - In North Rhine-Westphalia, the 9-euro ticket sometimes caused full trains on the second weekend after its introduction. "As expected, there is a high volume of passengers along tourist routes," said a spokesman for Deutsche Bahn on Sunday in Berlin. Train traffic is stable.
Deutsche Bahn has taken measures that make significantly more trains, seats, buses and service staff available than in a normal summer. Since June 1, more than 50 additional trains have been in use in NRW every day. This means around 250 additional journeys per day with regional and S-Bahn trains.
