North Rhine-Westphalia: A man in a strange bed and many unanswered questions

Ascheberg (dpa / lnw) - Nothing actually happened - and yet the police are faced with many questions. A woman in Ascheberg in Münsterland alerted the police on Friday morning because a strange man suddenly slept in bed next to her. The police said it was completely inexplicable for the woman how he could have gotten there. So the officials drove to the address - but came too late. Because in the meantime the stranger had woken up and walked past the woman into the neighboring house without saying a word.

After the police officers heard the story, they too went into the house next door. There they met the stranger - he lived there and was a neighbor of the woman. He told the officials about an extremely boozy evening at the Schützenfest. Several friends then brought him home drunk – but obviously made a mistake in the door.

According to the investigation, the woman's front door was open at night. In this way, the friends could easily get into the wrong house and into the bedroom, where they then, in good faith, put the man to bed right next to the resident. The resident, on the other hand, obviously sleeps so soundly that she didn't notice the drunken group of men in her bedroom, a police spokesman said.

The police officers left with many question marks. Ultimately, a criminal offense could not be ascertained. The man promised to try to talk to his visibly frightened neighbor again when he was sober, the police said.
