Aachen (dpa / lnw) - The full closure on the Autobahn 44 between the Belgian border and the Aachen-Brand junction in the direction of Cologne has been lifted. This was announced by the Autobahn company on Tuesday morning. However, drivers traveling in the direction of Düsseldorf only have one lane in the construction site area between the Lichtenbusch border crossing and the Aachen-Brand junction.
According to a spokeswoman, there were difficulties when recovering a truck that had slipped into the embankment. In addition, about 700 liters of diesel fuel leaked. The truck left the roadway in wet and slippery conditions. Nobody was harmed during the accident.
