Aachen (dpa/lnw) - Green lawn and red carpet: The opening of the annual, international CHIO horse show is being celebrated in Aachen today. Around 150 guests are expected at the Media Night, as a spokesman announced in advance. In addition to national and international riders, celebrities from sports, business, politics and culture also come to the gala evening. The German pop singer Wincent Weiss ("Unter meine Haut") will sing as part of the opening ceremony. The media prize "The Silver Horse" for the best online contribution of the past year will also be presented on the show grounds.
The "World Equestrian Festival" takes place from June 24th to July 3rd in Aachen. On the show grounds, the riders compete in the five disciplines of jumping, dressage, eventing, four-in-hand driving and vaulting.
