Dortmund (dpa / lnw) - One day after the attempted homicide at Dortmund's Nordmarkt, the police arrested a 33-year-old suspect in the city center. The man is suspected of having inflicted serious stab wounds on a 22-year-old on Tuesday morning. The injured person underwent emergency surgery after the attack and was then out of danger.
The suspect, like the victim, came from the drug milieu in Nordstadt, police and prosecutors said on Wednesday. The murder commission is still investigating the exact background to the crime. Traces also have to be evaluated.
Multiple testimonies led investigators to the suspect. According to the public prosecutor, a decision will be made on Thursday whether he will be taken into custody.
