North Rhine-Westphalia: After shots at 26-year-olds: Suspect in custody

Moers (dpa / lnw) - After a man was shot in Moers on Monday, a suspect is in custody. The 32-year-old was arrested on Tuesday evening, and a judge has now issued an arrest warrant on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm, prosecutors and police said on Wednesday. The injured 26-year-old was released from the hospital on Wednesday.

He was found on Monday afternoon outside a grocery store with gunshot wounds to his thighs, investigators said. It is a homeless man from Moers. Witnesses first heard a bang nearby. Shortly thereafter, the owner of the grocery store noticed the injured person and called an ambulance.

Questioning the victim and other witnesses put the investigators on the trail of the 32-year-old suspect, the statement said. According to the investigation, the two men are said to have argued over money. A murder weapon could still not be secured.
