Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - A 26-year-old man allegedly committed another crime on the day of his release from prison and was arrested again. As the police announced on Thursday, the man in the lobby of a hotel in Düsseldorf tried to take a receptionist's backpack on Wednesday evening. The woman suffered minor injuries trying to get her property back.
The police then picked up the 26-year-old shortly thereafter near the crime scene. "He tried to identify himself not with an ID card, but with his own written arrest warrant," the police reported. According to the information, he had received the previous prison sentence for other property crimes. The man was arrested by the police.
