Paderborn (dpa / lnw) - The fire in a residential building in Paderborn on Saturday night caused property damage of almost half a million euros. A room fire had escalated to an attic fire and the house was now uninhabitable, said a police spokesman. The residents - including two children aged nine months and three years respectively - remained unharmed.
It was initially unclear why the fire broke out in the house in the Schloss Neuhaus district. According to the police spokesman, it is a residential building with a shop on the ground floor. The property damage is estimated at around 450,000 euros.
