Wesel (dpa / lnw) - Seven people were injured in a fire in an apartment building in Wesel. The police said on Thursday that an apartment on the first floor had caught fire for an unknown reason. 16 residents had to leave the building in the meantime. According to the police, some residents could not return to their apartments after the fire brigade put out the fire on Wednesday and were accommodated in other residential units by the public order office.
The seven injured were taken to nearby hospitals with smoke inhalation, it said. The property damage amounts to around 50,000 euros. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing. There were no further details at first.
