North Rhine-Westphalia: ATM blown up: the house is checked for statics

Monschau (dpa / lnw) - Unknown perpetrators blew up an ATM in Monschau in the Eifel and fled. Security guards observed on Tuesday night how two perpetrators sprayed surveillance cameras and notified the officials, the police said. Even before they arrived, there was a detonation. According to the police, witnesses observed how at least two perpetrators drove in a dark car towards Belgium. It was initially not known whether the perpetrators made loot.

The police brought several residents to safety who lived in the three-storey building in the Mützenich district above the bank branch. They were housed elsewhere. The statics of the house are expected to be checked during the course of the day.
