Marl (dpa / lnw) - Unknown perpetrators blew up an ATM in the anteroom of a bank branch in Marl-Polsum (Recklinghausen district) early Monday morning. The bank's premises were significantly damaged, the police said. According to the current state of knowledge, the actual building is not in danger of collapsing. There were no injuries either.
It was not yet clear whether the perpetrators managed to steal money. According to the police, three masked perpetrators with headlamps entered the bank while a fourth waited in the getaway car. According to witnesses, the car fled at high speed in the direction of Gelsenkirchen-Hassel. A police helicopter was used to support the search for the perpetrators.
