North Rhine-Westphalia: "Back to the future": LWL archaeologists on tour

Münster (dpa / lnw) - Archaeologists from the Regional Association of Westphalia-Lippe are going on an information tour of Westphalia starting Monday, using the time machine from the film "Back to the Future" of all things. Until September 10, the scientists will show archaeological sites from the region with the help of 3D glasses and virtual reality. Construction work on the first station with the DeLorean sports car from the Hollywood classic of 1985 began on Sunday in a shopping center in downtown Münster. Stations in Bielefeld, Bocholt, Siegen and Dortmund follow.

"We want to make archeology and history a little more tangible, which is why we're using cinema or video game resources," said Georg Lunemann, director of the LWL, about the campaign.
