North Rhine-Westphalia: bather saves a child from the water: the police are looking for rescuers

Horn-Bad Meinberg (dpa / lnw) - A motionless child was rescued from the water by a bather in an outdoor pool in the Lippe district. Now the police are looking for the stranger to thank him for his courageous intervention. The man rescued the three-year-old child from the water in the Horn outdoor pool on Tuesday evening and brought it to the lifeguard, the police said on Wednesday.

Thanks to the first aid that was then initiated by the lifeguard, worse things could have been prevented. The child regained consciousness. According to the information, rescue workers took it to a hospital. There is no evidence of third-party negligence.

The lifesaver was no longer on site when the police arrived at the full swimming pool. Therefore he could not accept the thanks for his courageous intervention. "We would like to catch up," said a police spokeswoman. The police are now asking the still unknown lifesaver to report by phone.

At the same time, the police appealed in their statement to take this as an example: "Even today, the swimming pools are full again due to the heat and therefore confusing. Please take an example from the stranger and look out for each other."
