According to a railway spokesman, the damage to the bridge between Herne-Rottbruch and Bochum-Riemke first had to be checked. After a good hour, trains were able to pass over it again.

The RB 46 connects Gelsenkirchen and Bochum, according to the railway spokesman, both directions are equally affected.
