Herten (dpa / lnw) - With "bull and bear in green" on an overburden heap, the Ruhr area wants to advertise itself as a green growth region in the coming days. The Ruhr area has the potential to assert itself as a leader in the "green transformation" in Europe, said the chairman of the association assembly at the Ruhr regional association, Frank Dudda (SPD), on Tuesday, according to a statement.
The installation on the Hoheward heap encourages viewing the metropolitan region in a new light, stressed Dudda, who is also the mayor of Herne. The strengths of the region include potential in hydrogen technologies, well-connected start-ups, a strong research landscape and many students.
