(dpa/lnw) - Four school children were injured in a bus accident on Autobahn 42 near Gelsenkirchen. The school class from England was on an excursion on Wednesday morning, according to the fire brigade. For reasons that are still unclear, the bus was scraped along the side of a truck in the direction of Dortmund. The passenger side of the bus was damaged.
Emergency services removed the bus doors with a cutter to get students, teachers and bus drivers out of the vehicle. As a police spokeswoman reported, three of the 39 children were slightly injured and one was seriously injured. According to the fire department, a total of five children were initially examined, some of whom had cuts on their faces. The rest of the group continued the trip with a replacement bus.
