Krefeld (dpa / lnw) - In an accident between a bus and a cyclist in Krefeld, eleven people were injured on Wednesday - in addition to the cyclist, there were also ten passengers. The bus driver had slammed on the brakes in front of the wheel crossing the bus lane, the police said. Passengers who were standing in the bus, which was well occupied at lunchtime, fell down. Seven of them had to be hospitalized, two of whom were kept on the ward for treatment.
The cyclist was caught by the bus despite the emergency braking. He suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. According to a police spokesman, several witnesses saw the bus go green when the cyclist came out of a side street and crossed the bus lane.
