Bad Münstereifel (dpa / lnw) - A 53-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car on the sidewalk in Bad Münstereifel and died. The 18-year-old driver went off the road on Tuesday morning probably because of black ice in a curve and collided with the pedestrian, the police said. The 53-year-old died at the scene of the accident.
The woman's dog, which was also hit by the car, was taken to the vet. According to the police, the 18-year-old was in shock and was taken to the hospital. The scene of the accident remained closed for the time being.
