North Rhine-Westphalia: car throws into oncoming traffic: young driver dies

Brakel (dpa / lnw) - A 21-year-old driver was thrown into oncoming traffic on a snow-covered bridge near Brakel and died in a collision with a minibus. His passenger and an occupant of the bus were flown to a clinic in a rescue helicopter, a police spokesman said on Monday. The seven other occupants of the minibus also had to be treated in the hospital.

According to the police spokesman, the accident happened on federal highway 64 in the Höxter district. It was apparently slippery on the bridge, he said. The road has three lanes in this area. The exact cause of the accident has yet to be determined.
