Essen (dpa / lnw) - The weather starts changeable in the new week in North Rhine-Westphalia. As reported by the German Weather Service (DWD), there may be showers and isolated thunderstorms on Monday. The DWD also expects thunderstorms and local heavy rain, stormy gusts and hail in East Westphalia and west of the Rhine from the afternoon. Short thunderstorms as well as heavy rain and gusts of wind are possible throughout the west from late afternoon and evening. The temperatures rise to 21 to 25 degrees. In the higher mountains it will be around 19 degrees. The night remains rain-free with larger loosening and lows of 12 to 9 degrees and in the valleys of the Eifel up to 6 degrees.

Tuesday will be mostly clear and rain-free with highs of 24 to 27 degrees. During the night of Wednesday there may be showery rain in some areas in the south-east of the country, with thunderstorms in some areas. According to DWD information, rain is to be expected during the day.
