North Rhine-Westphalia: chase ends at the wall of a farm

Essen (dpa / lnw) - The escape of two young men in their car from the police ended after a chase on the wall of a farm. According to a police report in Mülheim/Ruhr, a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old were stopped by a patrol. When officers approached the vehicle, the driver accelerated and drove away. The pursuit of the duo finally ended in the city of Essen when the fleeing vehicle hit a wall on the farm.

The 17-year-old reportedly wanted to get away on foot, but was quickly caught. The police caught the 18-year-old, presumably the driver, in the getaway vehicle. A blood sample was taken from him at the police station on suspicion of alcohol and drug consumption. His driver's license and a forbidden knife were also seized. The vehicle, which police say belongs to the 18-year-old's father, was also confiscated.

The 17-year-old was handed over to his legal guardians after the police measures had been completed. According to the announcement, the adult was allowed to “start the journey home on foot”.
