Hille (dpa / lnw) - On his way to school, a ten-year-old boy in the Minden-Lübbecke district was hit by a car at a traffic light and critically injured. According to the first witness statements, the boy jumped on his bike on Wednesday morning at the green light at the pedestrian traffic light to cross the street, the police said. But he was hit by the car of a 64-year-old and thrown onto the street. The boy was wearing a helmet, but according to the emergency doctor he suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The scene of the accident remained completely closed for a while, and the driver was looked after by an emergency pastor. How exactly the accident happened was initially unclear. The car and bicycle were seized.
