North Rhine-Westphalia: Citizens can question NRW MPs via the Internet portal

Düsseldorf (dpa/lnw) - Citizens can now ask questions to all 195 members of the newly elected North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament via the Internet. For this purpose, the independent initiative "Memberwatch.de" provides a question portal.

The aim is to bring citizens and politicians back into more dialogue, the initiative announced on Wednesday. Interested parties can use the website to critically follow the work of MPs and ask questions if they find something contradictory. The questions and answers were permanently stored publicly. Voting behavior and membership in politicians' committees are also documented on the portal.

According to its own statements, the "Membershipwatch.de" project is financed by donations from the population and is supported by the non-profit association Parliamentwatch.
