North Rhine-Westphalia: Corona incidence at 714.2: strikingly high value in Coesfeld

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the seven-day incidence for North Rhine-Westphalia on Thursday morning as 714.2. The number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week is lower than on Thursday a week ago (782.4). The day before, the value was 721.1. Nationwide, the RKI registered a value of 690.6 on Thursday.

The RKI reported 28,640 new Covid 19 cases in the most populous federal state on Thursday. 27 deaths related to Corona were added. The highest incidence was reported in Coesfeld with 1168.9, the lowest incidence with 267 in the Rhein-Sieg district.

However, the incidence does not provide a complete picture of the infection situation. Experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases that have not been recorded by the RKI - mainly because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.
